Just a correction: Saraa was 1/4 Buryat through her maternal grandmother. Her maternal grandfather was Hungarian and her mother escaped from Hungary in 1959. Her father was I believe Scots and German.

I’ve read two of Sarangerel’s books and found they speak to me very powerfully. She passed on several years ago, you know, sadly for us. She was not Mongolian but that didn’t stop her from becoming a wonderful teacher and shaman in that tradition, as she could be the one standing between the indigenous culture and the West, offering the teachings in an understandable way to Westerners.
